Let students sign in to MathGPT.now with school accounts
Since October 2023, Google Workspace for Education blocks students designated as under 18 from signing in to any third-party app the school hasn't reviewed. Students see “Access blocked: your institution's admin needs to review MathGPT.now”. Either option below fixes it for your domain.
What MathGPT.now asks Google for
Only the basic Sign in with Google information: the scopes openid, email and profile (name, email address and profile picture). MathGPT.now never requests access to Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Classroom, contacts or any other Google data, and cannot read or change anything in your Workspace.

Option 1: allow apps that only use basic sign-in (quickest)
- In the Google Admin console, go to Security → Access and data control → API controls.
- Open Settings and find Unconfigured third-party apps.
- Choose Allow users to access third-party apps that only request basic info needed for Sign in with Google, apply it to your students' organizational unit, and save.
Because MathGPT.now only requests basic sign-in information, this setting alone lets students sign in. It does not let any app read Workspace data.
Option 2: approve MathGPT.now specifically
- In Security → Access and data control → API controls, open Manage Third-Party App Access.
- Choose Add app → OAuth App Name Or Client ID and search for the client ID above.
- Select the organizational units for your students and set access to Trusted (or Limited if your policy allows only basic sign-in).
Menu names can differ slightly between Admin console versions; Google's help article “Control which third-party & internal apps access Google Workspace data” describes the same settings.
Privacy and classroom use
Students' saved solutions are visible only to them unless they choose to share one. MathGPT.now shows every step, the method and a check, and asks students to follow their course's rules on AI help.
