Common questions

How far ahead of an exam should I start revising?

Six to eight weeks for a full course, and the first week should be diagnosis rather than revision. You cannot prioritise what you have not measured, and most people revise what they already know because it feels productive.

What actually improves an exam score?

Working under the real conditions, then reviewing by error type rather than by total score. Sort every mistake into definition, setup, calculation, interpretation or timing, and revise the category that appears most, not the topic that feels hardest.

Should I revise by topic or by past paper?

By topic until you can complete a method unprompted, then by paper. Papers are for practising selection and timing, and they waste time if the underlying method is not there yet.
